Recent changes in National Flood Insurance rates are expected to affect many Sandy-impacted communities. Some resources that may be helpful are below:
New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer released his office's audit report examining administration of the Build it Back program by the the Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery Operations. The audit found that two subcontractors, Solix and URS, hired to do the administrative work of the Build it Back program were highly inefficient and ineffective. The comptroller voiced concern that the city continues an informal agreement with both firms. They were paid $7 million in contracts.
